Via Lattea (Milky Way or Voie Lactée), the international skiing area, includes several ski resorts in the northwest of Italy as well as Montgenèvre Ski Resort in the southeast of France. The ski resorts Sestriere, Cesana Sansicario, Sauze d'Oulx, and Claviere are located in the Italian part of the ski area. 

The huge space of Via Lattea offers 400 km of slopes for skiing and snowboarding, terrific Olympic piste trails, night skiing, scenic views, a great choice of winter activities for everyone, large playgrounds for the youngest skiers in Sansicario and Sauze d’Oulx, plenty of charming villages throughout the ski area, and of course the excellent food in local restaurants, and numerous après-ski opportunities.

The ski area of Via Lattea is located at an altitude of approximately 1350 to 2823 m above sea level, 400 km of ski slopes of various difficulty levels (19% of them are difficult, 47% — intermediate, 34% — easy), and long runs up to 9 km are available here. The resort has 69 ski lifts of various types.

This resort offers 14 ski schools for beginners in Sestriere, Sauze d'Oulx, Claviere, Cesana Torinese and Montgenèvre. Ski equipment and snowboard rentals are available at every ski resort.
