Watergate Beach is located in the southwestern part of the UK, in Cornwall. This famous long sandy beach with excellent surfing waves is located a 10-min drive north of Newquay center.
The coastline of the spacious golden sandy beach stretches along a large open bay for 3 km. Its azure waters and coastline are so clear that the beach has been awarded the Blue Flag. Due to excellent waves, sports competitions of different kinds are often held here – including sea, air, and sand sports.
On the beach, there is the Extreme Academy Surf School with experienced instructors, where you can get lessons in surfing, kitesurfing, and many other kinds of water sports. Equipment rental is available here. From May to September, swimming is supervised by a lifeguard.
The beach is well-equipped: there are public toilets, two parking lots, a restaurant, a café with takeaway food and children's menus, and ice cream kiosks. You can visit the beach with your dog, access is allowed all year round.
