Chamonix Ski Resort is located in the southeast of France, the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. This world-famous ski area with a great location offers a huge selection of skiing and snowboarding trails.
Chamonix ski area includes 11 ski resorts, the main ones of which are Grands Montets, Brevent-Flegere, Balme-Tour-Vallorcine and Les Houches. Here, you will find great skiing and snowboarding trails, freeride trails as well as many opportunities for extreme skiing.
The ski area is located at an altitude of approximately 1000 to 3840 m above sea level, 170 km of ski slopes of various difficulty levels are available (15% of them are difficult, 35% – intermediate, 50% – easy), and long runs up to 22 km. The resort has 61 ski lifts of various types.
The Chamonix Valley has excellent ski instructors and several areas for ski lessons. Ski and snowboard rentals are available in the centre of Chamonix, as well as in Argentiere, Le Tour, and Les Houches.
The closest airports to the resort are Genève Aéroport (about 105 km to the Chamonix resort by bus, private transfer or train), Lyon-Saint Exupéry Airport (about 220 km by bus), and Milan Malpensa Airport (about 220 km, by private transfer or rental car only).
