Climate and the best time to travel
Barcelona has a subtropical climate. This type of climate is typical of the Mediterranean. It is characterized by hot, dry summer and mild winter.
Early spring is the best time to visit museums and take city tours. However, popular months for travel are May and June, when the temperatures are the most suitable for sightseeing.

Sagrada Familia
The Sagrada Família, a basilica and atoning temple of the Holy Family, is a Roman Catholic church in Barcelona. It was designed by Antoni Gaudí in modern style, and its construction is still incomplete. It started in 1882 and is expected to be completed in 2026 on the 100th anniversary of Gaudí's death. In 2010, Pope Benedict XVI consecrated the church and proclaimed it a minor basilica.

Park Güell
Park Güell, which covers 17,18 ha., was created by Antoni Gaudí in the period from 1900 to 1914. The industrialist Eusebi Güell was very enthusiastic about the English gardens and this park was designed by his request.

How to get there: Metro Vallcarca (L3) or Lesseps.
Tip: If you want to enjoy the park in a quiet atmosphere without crowds of tourists, try to go there early in the morning.
Tibidabo
Tibidabo, 512 meters high, is the highest peak in the Serra de Collserola mountain range and with the Montjuïc is one of the two local mountains of Barcelona.
On the Tibidabo you can visit the Sagrat Cor Catholic Church with an impressive Christ statue on top, a well-known amusement park, and the striking Torre de Collserola television tower.
You can get to the mountain by a funicular (Funicular del Tibidabo).
Casa Milà (La Pedrera)
Passeig de Gracia, 92. 08008 Barcelona
Casa Milà was also built by Antoni Gaudí from 1906 to 1910 for the Milà family in Barcelona. In 1984, the building was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO as the first building of the 20th century.
The building is colloquially called “Pedrera”, as it resembles a stone quarry.

Picasso Museum
The Picasso Museum houses works from Picasso's youth and later creative phases. The brilliant artist Pablo Picasso spent several years of his adolescence in Barcelona. Here he studied at the prestigious art school "La Llotja", where his father was a professor.

Camp Nou football stadium - FC Barcelona football museum
Camp Nou (Catalan New Field) in Barcelona, also called Nou Camp, is the third-largest football stadium in the world with a capacity of 99 354 spectators and the largest football stadium in Europe. It was inaugurated in 1957 and has been the home of the FC Barcelona club ever since.

Beaches in Barcelona
Barcelona offers around 4.2 kilometers of golden sandy beaches that are only 10 minutes from the city center. They lie from Barceloneta to Malgrat de Mar in the north. You can easily get to the beaches by subway and tram.

Top 10 specialties from Barcelona
1. Paella - a dish made from rice, meat, and saffron, there is also a well-known variant of paella de marisco (with seafood).
2. Tapas - Catalan starters. The most common are: boquerones (anchovies in vinegar), manchego cheese (sheep's cheese), bacalao (stockfish served with bread and tomatoes), banderillas (skewers with fish, vegetables, eggs, and olives), patatas bravas (fried potatoes with spicy sauce), Paprika salad, chopitos (small squid), sauteed shrimps, meat skewer (tender pieces of meat), Spanish tortilla (omelet with potatoes and onions).
3. Crema Catalana - a pudding dessert.
4. Pa amb Tomaquèt - a toasted piece of bread with ripe tomatoes, seasoned with a little pinch of salt, olive oil and garlic.
5. Botifarra amb Mongetes Seques - a Catalan sausage accompanied by white beans. It is also one of the ingredients of the Escudella soup, which is a popular Christmas dish.
6. Las Salsas - Catalan sauces: Romesco (roasted almonds, cinnamon, pine nuts, parsley, and saffron), sofrito (garlic, olive oil, onions, and tomatoes), aioli (garlic with olive oil) and samfaina (with tomatoes, eggplants, and peppers).
7. Arròs Negre - a famous variant of paella with squid ink that gives it a unique color.
8. Zarzuela - a dish that mixes all the sea fruits of the region.
9. Grilled Chicken a la Catalana - served with dried fruits.
10. Embutidos - sausage, the famous types are Fuet de Vic, tasty dry sausage, and Jamón Serrano.
Transport
The airplane is the most convenient and often the cheapest way to get to Barcelona.
El Prat Airport is the second largest airport in Spain. From here you can get to the city in about 30 minutes. The Aerobus departs from Terminals 1 and 2. With A, B, and C9 you can come directly to the city center.
Barcelona has many residential areas, and knowing specific peculiarities of these could be useful when getting around the city. So we gathered them for you in a short list below:

The district of Barceloneta is very close to the beaches of Barcelona.
The El Born district has many modern bars and restaurants and is close to Barceloneta, also located not that far from the beach.
The Gràcia district is characterized by small, narrow, old streets. It has a very cozy atmosphere.
Les Corts is a business district of Barcelona, and nearby there is the Eixample district, which is good for shopping fans. The district of Les Corts itself is not particularly interesting.
Montjuïc is located next to Plaça España and the magic fountain.
Poble Sec is a sleeping quarter of Barcelona, located only 10 minutes away from the city center. Accommodation there is usually cheaper.
Port Olimpic would suit you well if you want to live by the sea. Situated closely to the beach and the picturesque marina, this is the right place for sea lovers. The district also boasts excellent fish restaurants.
