International Les Portes du Soleil Ski Resort (The Doors of the Sun) is located in the east of France (Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes) and in the Val d'Illiez (Switzerland, Lemanic Region). This ski resort is one of the largest in the world.
The most famous and popular ski resorts of Portes du Soleil are Avoriaz, Morzine, Châtel, Les Gets in France and Champéry, Les Crosets, Morgins, Champoussin and Torgon – in Switzerland. The huge interconnected ski area with a reliable snowpack and 12 ski resorts offers a vast landscape and a variety of excellent ski runs for intermediates and beginners, many freeride and off-piste options, as well as a great choice of winter activities.
The ski area is located at an altitude of approximately 950 to 2277 m above sea level, 600 km of ski slopes of various difficulty levels are available (12% of them are difficult, 35% – intermediate, 53% – easy), and long runs up to 11 km. The resort has 209 ski lifts of various types.
